In places there are side trails next to the bicycle path that go over tall mounds, along ridges, etc. I was doing that when I saw two woman standing and thought they probably have dogs. When I got to the down slope of the ridge I saw the dogs in tall grass and that I had a window of opportunity to get by them fast. But then came a tall mound and I was going so fast that when I came down the other side I barely stayed on a curve and hit my helmet on a heavy branch which shook my head back. When I got home I saw I had a bunch of dried leaf bits in my hair and showed my family.
I highly recommend to always wear a helmet.
Today it saved me the pain and hassle of being a bloody mess.
Yesterday I came across the teeth, hair, and eyes of two bikers who persisted in riding two abreast in front oof a semi. Helmets didn’t help ‘em much an they won’t be sharing it with anyone.
So did the helmet protect you from the dogs?
Or...you coulda just slowed down instead of being a typical jerk bike-rider.
Cool story, bro.

p.s. Soccer too.
