We drink Folgers Black Silk. It is the best coffee I’ve ever had. It’s very smooth, no matter how strong you make it. Very faint chocolate undertones, to me. Obviously, I’m no coffee snob, and never hope to be. Years ago, I drank Stewart’s Coffee. It also is very smooth.
Especially if the picking is done by a guy named Juan Valdez!
How did you brew your Folgers?
Sam’s Club Colombia Supremo tastes exactly like... coffee! Love it!
Is that the Kirkland’s brand? Used to swear by that coffee years ago when I had a membership.
Ethiopian coffee is not one of my favs, too grassy for my tastes. I do appreciate Uganda beans. The Dominican Republic has produced some outstanding coffee beans in recent years. But for the droughts, Brazil is superb coffee.
The degree of roasting is a big factor toward a great tasting cup. Next is the water--filtered water is much preferred.
Green beans are shelf stable for months. Roasted coffee is freshest for about a week. Ground coffee begins to lose its best character within minutes. So, I'm off to enjoy today's coffee delicacy...
I get locally roasted Colombian Supremo for my church’s coffee and donuts. It is an excellent all around choice. Personally, my present favorite is wild grown Papua New Guinea.
Do you roast your coffee in the oven or do you own a roaster?
The headline promises to tell us the top “ingredient”. The article correctly states that there are many important ingredients to good coffee. This is one step removed from those click bait articles that promise one thing and deliver another (that you already knew).
Good quality water is always key
Oven roasting is limited by lack of visibility, inability to hear the all important 1st and 2nd "crack" of the beans, and a method to cool the beans, thus preventing over-roasting.
I found that irritating as well. The one thing missing from the body of this article is the thing that was promised in the headline.
Just one more question. Where do you get your beans?
Online green bean shopping. A couple of reliable favs include Burman Coffee and Coffee Bean Corral. Definitely worth exploring.
I second the notion on the PNG.
Again, thx much!
Drink good coffee. You can sleep when you are dead.
FBS...same for us. Great tasting coffee!
