your failure to address the rest of my post #107 indicates you want to play stupid games...
these vehicles have proven incapable of towing anything long distance...
https://electrek.co/2022/05/31/ford-f-150-lightning-loses-range-towing-23-foot-airstream-trailer/
I was able to tow the Airstream around 30 miles today and understand how the Lightning does with some weight behind it. The TL;DR is that with a 23-foot Airstream, I am seeing 0.8mi/kWh. Compared to the 1.5-1.8 I have seen on my road trips thus far without the trailer, itās around 50% of the range when towing.
For a police department, they probably won't need too much cross country towing of a bomb disposal trailer.
itās worthles if it canāt return on itās own power after working a 12 hour shift...
Again, it isn't meant to be a replacement for a regular patrol car.
then thereās the added expenses of charging stations installations at police stations coupled with the original price tag of the vehicles...
Most police departments don't have their own gas pumps, they refuel at fleet gas stations. The F-150 Lightning could recharge at a local 150 kW DC Fast Charger, were it can be charged from 15% to 80% in 41 minutes.
The 80 amp 240V charger can recharge the vehicle overnight, and will require professional installation, but the cost isn't outrageous.
the only use these overglorified golf carts have is raising taxes to pay for this idiocy...
You are discounting the lower cost of operation for the F-150 Lightning vs. a gasoline F-150. EVs require less maintenance, there are no oil changes, and are cheaper per mile to operate than gasoline.
Look, you hate EVs, I get that. I don't think they're ready for prime time, either, to take over all roles in a police department or in real life.
But 2022's EVs are not the 1990s GM EV-1. At least have an open mind.
