Okay, simple question from someone untrained in building.
Won’t building an immense structure mainly from reflective material create a magnification of heat effect?
Such heat (repeated daytime levels) will eventually warp this structure - correct?

Won’t this same material present a visual hazzard for any pilot entering the airspace nearby? What with those bright reflections shooting up in the sky.

Just think of all those Muslim ‘refugees’ in Europe that nobody wants. They could all fit here so very easily.
Why, the Crown Prince wouldn’t even know they were there.
That’s what the world needs now. Not some giant building lying on it’s side like a wounded buffalo.

If they tried to build that here, we would need to include strategically placed turtle crossings.

And there will be mosques every 100 feet so the imams can wake everyone up for early morning prayers every day in this Saudi paradise on earth. Mo Bone Saw can dream many things, but his population will still run to Dubai for a more Western style life, or Bahrain to sin.

Phantasmagorically extravagant visions, made possible by a seismic shift in the oil and gas markets, caused by Russia’s historic sacrifice of its market share.

Putin is a master strategist!

Saudi Arabia can fund the biggest folly in the history of humanity, thanks to him!

They can afford to build this grand edifice because Biden is making sure that they get the maximum price for their oil by ensuring that US oil stays off the market.

It's definitely an interesting concept.

I read a science fiction story once about such a mega-city on an island about the size of Manhattan. Only it was more vertical than horizontal.

The buildings towered miles into the sky and it was the lower class people who lived in the upper reaches. Only the elite were allowed to be on the lower levels, where there was more infrastructure and things to do.

Most people would live their entire lives at the 500 story level and above and some of these buildings reached 1,000 stories tall. There were terraces where people could get fresh air and maybe grow some tomatoes or play some volleyball. The buildings were also connected to each other at various levels so you could walk between them.

But to get to the lower levels, you had to improve your social standing. Otherwise, as the population increased, they just kept building higher and higher and kept pushing the poorer people to the top.
