UN health agency chief declares monkeypox a global emergency [they forgot “convenient”]

LONDON (AP) — The expanding monkeypox outbreak in more than 70 countries is an “extraordinary” situation that qualifies as a global emergency, the World Health Organization chief said Saturday, a declaration that could spur further investment in treating the once-rare disease and worsen the scramble for scarce vaccines.

A global emergency is WHO’s highest level of alert but the designation does not necessarily mean a disease is particularly transmissible or lethal.

There are laws that could shut down the gay meetings and bars where this is being spread, and they could do contact tracing.

They closed churches schools gyms and restaurants for covid, but I guess STDs are above the law.

What is going on with our beloved Democratic party, the UN and the rest of the world is the effort to form a global government. I wonder if the DemocRATS are actually going to let the elections happen this fall or will the monkeypox pandemic cause them to be “postponed”?

Overruled a panel of advisors who voted 9-6 AGAINST declaring an emergency.

Phase 2 of the Great Reset has begun.

(NYTimes article)
https://archive.ph/jTla6

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the W.H.O.’s director general, on Saturday overruled a panel of advisers, who could not come to a consensus, and declared a “public health emergency of international concern,” a designation the W.H.O. currently uses to describe only two other diseases, Covid-19 and polio.
“We have an outbreak that has spread around the world rapidly through new modes of transmission, about which we understand too little, and which meets the criteria” for a public health emergency, Dr. Tedros told reporters.
The committee’s inability to come a consensus also highlights the need for a better process to decide which events represent public health emergencies. It is apparently the first time that the director general has overruled his advisers to declare a public health emergency.
“This process demonstrates once again that this vital tool needs to be sharpened to make it more effective,” Dr. Tedros said, referring to the W.H.O.’s deliberations. Member countries are considering ways to improve the process, he added.
The W.H.O.’s declaration signals a public health risk requiring a coordinated international response. The designation can lead member countries to invest significant resources in controlling an outbreak, draw more funding to the response, and encourage nations to share vaccines, treatments and other key resources for containing the outbreak.

Isn’t the vaccine the same as the small pox vaccine? I thought most people were vaccinated as kids.

Kinder, gentler version of Aids. That is, same activity risk, but much milder.

You normally don’t poke someone in the rear end at the voting precinct. So there’s no danger to in-person voting.

The WHO should have been vaccinating people in sub-Saharan Africa a decade ago. Smallpox vaccines works quite well to prevent Monkeypox transmission either from animals or Humans. It now may be too late to prevent the transmission of Monkeypox from Humans to animals in Europe and North America. The failure to prevent transmission from animals to Humans in Africa is a huge failure of the public health bureaucracies. They have been more worried about Smallpox being used as a bioterrorism weapon than Monkeypox getting out of Africa. Access to Smallpox vaccines needs to be taken away from the world’s militaries.

“Global emergency” — it is another “gay” disease. No women have even contracted “monkey pox”. Only people who have died are “men who have sex with other men”.

Commies can not govern without an endless stream of "emergencies".
If one is not at hand, it must be manufactured or something must be hyped.
People are losing respect for the old standby Global Warming or Climate Change.

Smallpox vaccines have not been available to civilians in the US since 1972. Smallpox was eradicated worldwide in 1977 and declared eradicated by the WHO in 1980. Unless one was in the military of a member of Congress since that time, anyone in the US younger than the mid 50's hasn't been vaccinated. Monkeypox would not have emerged 40 to 50 years ago, because almost everyone in developed countries was vaccinated, and vaccination against Smallpox used to be required for international travel to and from regions of the world where Smallpox still existed in the 1960's. I've seen the vaccine "yellow cards" my grandparents kept with their passports in the 1960's. No children have been vaccinated against Smallpox since October 1977. That's almost 45 years.
