So what do you think you are really seeing? You are seeing constructed images made by people using software programs. Those images may or may not conform what to what a human eye may perceive if it had a chance to witness the real images directly. Of course the manufactured images are stunning and beautiful and sure to generate more funding.

Those images may or may not conform what to what a human eye may perceive IR, LP filters, long exposures, even the optics, can see what the eye can't or what the eye may or may not perceive. Is this a bad thing?

This is a globular star cluster M13. Do you consider this a manufactured or constructed image created by a software program? If so could you explain how this was manufactured and constructed by a computer program and what the difference is between seeing this directly in an eyepiece with the human eye, as opposed to the digital image below?
