“#SueTheView” Trends as Turning Point USA Threatens Legal Action over Whoopi’s Neo-Nazi Smear
#SueTheView has been trending on Twitter after co-host Whoopi Goldberg insisted the conservative org had let neo-Nazis into their event in Tampa on the weekend.
Turning Point USA issued a scathing cease and desist letter to ABC News Tuesday, calling for the Disney-owned company to “retract the defamatory statements” made by ‘The View’ Monday or face legal action.
Goldberg had attempted to backtrack her comments – no doubt on legal advice - later on the show, saying the neo-Nazis were “outside protesters” but then added, “My point was more metaphorical, that you embrace them at your thing.”
