It should be no problem other than a extended data transfer time. Btw, we can control unmanned exploration spacecraft, rovers etc, on other planets from a long ways off. It works well, but takes some time, depending on the distance.
Btw, if I’m not mistaken telescopes can remotely operate from anywhere on earth.
