Possibly the truest sentence of all time. True, Truckers, trains, cargo ships, etc. are all also critically important, because if they don't transport it, we don't receive it. But without the farmers, there's no food TO transport.
When I was very young, I didn't understand farmers' importance, and thought of them as a bunch of "country bumpkins". Deeply ashamed that I was once so ignorant.
