Good diagram. It appears as though the generators are basically either inside the building next to, or beneath the power transformers for each generating unit. Transformers are outside, which aids greatly in cooling. Plus, they step up to higher transmission voltage, so you need plenty of space for those long insulators and conductor spacing.
