IMO, our culture is being driven by schools, universities, and the media more so than politicians.
I don't disagree, but I think they're all responsible. Further, they have one very, very important common denominator - they are ALL narcissistic. It's all about them. Biden, the Clintons, Obama, Pelosi, most of the talking head media, law school and other university faculty, deans, and those school 'teachers' who think of themselves as the 'molders' of thought for future generations. It's ALL about them.
I've never met as many arrogant and simultaneously mediocre people as I've met on campuses, but most politicians I've taken care of or interacted with have also been incredibly narcissistic - but some are also somewhat insecure.
The bottom line is that no society can ultimately succeed if the power and influence always gets filtered up to those whose egos drive their lives - rather than their talents and hard work. Humility is a big and important concept.
