20 point swing in the 6th district of Illinois from 2016 to 2018.
Total population of the district was (2019) 710,626. Total vote count 315,446. Couldn't find total registered voters. 44% of the the total population voted. Average votes out of registered voters is about 38% nation wide (except for 2020.) Either I missed something. Or this is impossible.

thanks for that. that does look whacky. That district was turning. It covers parts of 5 counties. It was redrawn after the 2010 census. Voting totals have been all over the place thru the years.
Hillary carried that district even though Roskum won huge there.
The Repubs lost 40 seats in the House in 2018.
voters came out of the woodwork for that district in 2020.

I have a tee off time. maybe i can back into registered voters later.

I use this guys site to do it. (He doesn't do house races but i can get close at the state elevel and maybe the county level.)

close as i can get so far. I’ll keep digging for the district info.

2016 - illinois 69.7% of registered voters voted in the general.
2018 - illinois 57.2% of registered voters voted in the mid-term.
2020 - illinois 72.3% of registered voters voted in the general.

according to the census...Total population of the district in 2018 was 730,345, so that percentage is less than 44%.

I still haven’t been able to get the number of registered voters in that district.

Here is the 2018 % of registered voters turn out for the 5 counties, of which parts of them make up district 6 - FWIW

Cook 58.09%
DuPage 57.83%
Lake 56.71%
Kane 54.76%
McHenry 50.02%

Could one could assume the same consistancy for the registered voters in District 6 ?
Then the turnout of registerd voters was a bunch over 50%
