Wow, if I didn’t already think the world of my fellow FReepers, I sure do now. To all of you who gave me the benefit of your knowledge, a huge THANK YOU.

I don’t know if the wires going from the pole to the main breaker are aluminum or not, but these temp off-and-on events seem to occur between around 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (what OG&E considers “peak” hours). The idea about running a cord from my computer to the other side of the house is a good one, which I think would be worthwhile to try.

I’ve read a little about the 120 / 240 “two pole” thing, and the fact that the bumps are always “partials” makes me lean toward that explanation. Most importantly, it’s not just my house; it happens to the entire town. Very weird.

The fact that the off/on thing is happening to many people at once rules out a wiring issue on your individual house.

But it’s still a very weird issue.
