The thing is ... inflation could start going down again before the election, and certainly before the 2024 election.
I’d hate to see us step in something by screaming too loudly about it. Better to just let people feel it for themselves, and not highlight the questionable government statistic.
The bigger risk right now is that the FED will create a deep recession, as they try and re-fight the last war (i.e., Carter’s inflation).
