I really like Armstrong, I think he has a lot of good stuff to say. The only thing I disagree with him on is his position that “straight democracy is the best”. I don’t see it. The only way it’s best IMO is if you are in the majority; thinking of that old saying “Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner”. Given human nature, I don’t think anything is perfect but some forms take longer to corrupt, hopefully.
I actually think that the civilization can be renewed if the universities undergo a pardigm shift away from the current atheist/materialist view to one called intelligent design. Why? because it looks like things are intelligently designed. they are not random at all.
The Greeks tried 'democracy' {which was not our system until the recent Demo'Rat Party started perverting it} and rejected it saying {paraphrasing}: Democracy is the best form of bad government; democracy fails when a majority realizes that they can vote themselves benefits at the expense of the minority.
Sound familiar?
