1. massive solar flares or micro nova's seem to take place every 12,000 years. Some larger or have more impact then others. 75,000 years ago it was theorized Toba super volcano dropped human populations down to 2000 base pairs. Nearly extinct. The volcano might have had an impact though I think it's more likely the flare /micronova that did the real damage.
The local bubble (hot gas) caused by a near by super nova 17 million years ago. The timing doesn't match a mass extinction event in our history. Either the timing when this went off isn't correct or we just happened to move into the exact center of the explosion. Where we are today. Either way this is creepy.

1519 Cortez was accused of killing off the Aztecs. It was Governor Velasquez by the orders of Pope gregory xiii abandoned a black slave they knew had small pox in Tenochtitlan. The result was a smallpox epidemic that lasted 60 days after this the battle took place. After which Cortez arrested Velasquez for this action. This is a case of rewritten history as most seem to believe Cortez destroyed the Aztecs
The reason I believe they're related is because after the micro Nova there will be no civilization on this planet. If they want to tag everyone they have to do it before the event.
