It violates the FR Groupthink, but as I’ve posted before, there are positive aspects to the strategy of not having Trump return as president. If he stays in his present role of “kingmaker” - promoting and helping others who believe in the MAGA agenda to get elected, he has more leverage to change the direction of the country than he had as a Potus who was blocked at every turn by federal judges or members of his own or the opposition party.

Someone like DeSantis would be opposed just as much, but that person could not be harassed, sued, and accused of being nazi, white supremacist, racist, sexist, xenophobe, etc the way Trump is, simply because they are not named Donald Trump. The same MAGA plans and actions could have more appeal if they were presented by someone that didn’t evoke a visceral response in the opposition. The reason is beccause many people are more open minded about the key MAGA issues like trade, endless wars, securing the border, energy independence, and deregulation than they are about the man, Donald Trump, himself.

I’ve watched as many Trump rally speeches as anyone here and I admire and love Trump, but that doesn’t preclude me from seeing and assessing strategic alternatives. His value to the MAGA movement is incalculable, but he doesn’t have to be Potus for it to be applied. As “Special Advisor to the President”, Trump could have a free hand and influence but would not be subject to congressional approval, term limits, and could not be impeached.

Trump's "flaws" are entirely a figment of the media's creation. So there is no reason to believe they couldn't do the same thing to the next victim.

desantis is currently running for reelection for florida governor this year (2022)...

he’s already stated his attention is focused on this year’s election, not a presidential campaign next year....

I think most of us are fighting, legally, by working election integrity, praying, donating, volunteering, actually running, being committeemen/delegates, advocating and organizing and getting out the vote.

I am not sure exactly who some would like me to have a physical war against. Whether you are working locally say in your school board (we just had a decent victory in San Francisco but itā€™s still miles uphill) or on a national level, that is our fight-

AND YES I KNOW THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN and those we counted on to resist largely folded- but we can overcome that. We saw it in Virginia, we just ousted a Soros DA in San Francisco for heavenā€™s sakes, there have been outstanding victories throughout the US - now is not the time to go wobbly.

I do not want DeSantis to be president before he is term limited out of his governorship. At this point the Republic is lost. Keeping DeSantis in Florida is a way to keep some semblance of Western Civilization extant in at least one state for a few more years.
