I watched the hour long video about King John’s final journey. Unfortunately it is not the show I remember. I’ll watch the 1964 video later, but it is definitely not it either because that one is in color. Also I’m wondering if I’m taking bits of Time Team episodes and have created a composite show in my mind on this topic, that does not actually exist. Cheers.
The 1964 video was quite interesting. And I agree that the missing treasure may have been “rescued” by the local people of the Fens as their “scavenger’s toll” for crossing the causeway.
I also viewed a video by a David Cox from 2003 and though interesting, was, again, not the one I remember viewing.
I did find this Time Team show about King John’s “lost palace” on the fringe of Sherwood Forest. There is no mention of the “lost treasure” but the show is quite good, in its own right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRuKu9uwxzo
