Do you do anything like soak them or notch them?

My non-highbred Romanos and scarlet runner beans did really good the first year. Not so good with the ones I harvested.

I didn’t do anything but plant them - I think they are just Burpee bush beans.

This year, some seeds that have always been reliable are a lot slower to germinate and fill out. It’s kind of weird.

Sometimes I have not had as good a return the second year of an heirloom seed, but then the third year it does really well. I have wondered if the strain has to acclimate to an area. Just a thought 🤷‍♀️ They know a lot more on the gardening thread 😂
