George Hamilton got away with a lot of unstereotypic behavior back then, mostly because he was always a comedian first, and rarely every tried to be taken seriously. Nowadays, too many folks take every role played as a personal confession.
George was sort of like an early Warren Beatty type, back when Warren did light comedy such as “Splendor In The Grass” with Natalie Wood.
I loved his phobic, neurotic, cynical, smart assed Evel Knievel movie.
Love At First Bite was great too.
