Thanks for the correction.
I had no idea he got fired.
That makes the story more interesting.
The Jan 6 Committee scheduled a special hearing today - any new testimony the MSM can twist into a political bomb shell?

Both the House and Senate Sergeants at Arms resigned, as did the US Capitol Police Chief. Fall guys?
There have been arguments back and forth about whether Pelosi declined National Guard presence, with the MSM claiming she did not:
https://www.newsweek.com/house-republicans-say-nancy-pelosi-rejected-national-guard-january-6-riot-kevin-mccarthy-jim-banks-1714401APBut have a look at this:
The House Sergeant at Arms reports to Pelosi and the Senate Sergeant at Arms reported to McConnell, a Republican who was then Senate Majority Leader. There is no evidence that either directed the security officials not to call the guard beforehand, and Hammill said after the insurrection that Pelosi was never informed of such a request.
The officials on the board, along with the former Capitol Police chief, Steven Sund, have disputed each others’ accounts of who requested the guard when. Both Sergeants of Arms and the police chief resigned immediately after the attack.

Here’s Capitol Police Chief had to say;
“Sund told the Post that House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving was concerned with the “optics” of declaring an emergency ahead of the protests and rejected a National Guard presence. He says Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger recommended that he informally request the Guard to be ready in case it was needed to maintain security.”
Considering Irving’s boss was Pelosi ... ahem. In the AP story, the “Hammill” who claims “Pelosi was never informed of such a request” was Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s spokesman.
I have a lot of trouble believing Irving nixed the Guard without ever consulting his boss.

Oh boy, and how. But it’s already been taken apart:

Several threads on FR about it already.
