I do not like that they are calling the residents “suspects”.
“I do not like that they are calling the residents “suspects””
I agree. There is obviously a bit more to this story, but in typical modern “journalist” practice, there is an obvious fog added to this story which raises suspicion.
I bet if the two young men, who have been spared of a life of crime had been successful in their home invasion, they would have been called “persons of interest” by the same fish wrap.
“I do not like that they are calling the residents “suspects”.”
Bingo.
Lock those gerbilists up for being heavily biased.
“I do not like that they are calling the residents “suspects”.”
Well, this is ABC15 in Phoenix. This news story is actually fairer than I would expect from them.
My gut reaction is the “suspect” label came from the author not the Phoenix PD.
That was the first thing that stuck out to me.
It’s the correct term - but maybe we can come up with a better term... These are the people suspected to have shot the criminal scum... OK, that’s true. But once it’s ‘justified’ and ‘defense’... they should be called ‘heroic citizens’
