Former President Donald Trump’s ex-lawyer Eric Herschmann said he penned the note that Cassidy Hutchinson said she wrote on January 6
‘The handwritten note that Cassidy Hutchinson testified was written by her was in fact written by Eric Herschmann on January 6, 2021,’ his spokesman told ABC
The message reads: ‘Anyone who entered the Capitol without proper authority should leave immediately,’ with the word ‘illegally’ crossed out
Herschmann reportedly previously told committee members he had written the note and reiterated that point through a spokesperson late Tuesday
In a statement to ABC, the January 6 committee downplayed that one of its witnesses was misremembering details about the memo
Trump reacted to the note being presented as evidence by posting to Truth Social: ‘Bad handwriting, that of a Whacko?’
