can’t stand? Actually they can. Especially wild ones. When cats, like cougars or bobcats, for instance, get surprised or are defending a litter, they spread out, wave their legs, open their mouths wide, bounce up and down, and hiss up a fit. All to seemingly make themselves appear larger and more fearsome. They don’t seem to attack when they go into this mode, probably because they think they are defending territory or a smaller family. And they’re not just standing, they’re flailing.
