Maybe to a degree. My problem with his saying 'Learn to Be More Frugal', is it presumes that he knows better. This type of leftist thinking when carried to extremes leads to bureaucrats in state capitols and Washington DC that think they know better and make decisions for individuals.
I have two daughters, ages 25 & 27. For most of their lives I gave them guidance through my actions and dinner time conversations. I also gave them the opportunity to make bad decisions. Fortunately because of the former there have been fewer of the latter. But they are all learning experiences. It's best to make mistakes when you are young, learn from those mistakes, and have a lifetime to recover.
Yeah, it may well be Cramer’s version of the WEF’s “You will own nothing and you will be happy”. But being frugal, especially in challenging times, is almost the opposite of that.
And Old Farts love to blow a little hot air at the young, whether across the dinner table or in the larger world.
