The one that gets me is the Jan 6 coverage: “deadly attack”, “insurrection”. etc. just flat out lies they write in their articles...
If you have time you could email or tweet at the reporters. Some people do this and it can be entertaining.
The thing is this isn’t an isolated case. The intentional abuse of language to change the way people think is pervasive.
“Gender-affirming” means “gender-denying”.
“Gender assigned at birth” means “gender recorded at birth”.
A “trans man” is a kind of woman.
A “trans woman” is a kind of man.
“Progressive” means “regressive (trying to undo the progress of civilization)”.
“Gay” — we’re all used to this word by now, but this is part of the normalization of homosexuality. It used to mean “happy and care-free”.
“Pride” — Now a virtue, whereas it used to be a sin.
And these are just off the top of my head right now; there are loads of other examples.
1984 is getting closer all the time.
