I bought some little salt lamp night lights and put them in the master bathroom and kitchen so I don't have to turn on the bright overheads at night. Then I changed my living room lightbulbs from 60 watt to 40 watt and set the timer for them to shut off at 9:30 pm. I don't turn on any bright lighting after 9:30-9:45. I try to shut down all TVs, computers and devices at least 30 minutes before bed,. I started doing this about 6 weeks ago on advice of a friend and it has been amazing. I get up earlier because I sleep better, and I can listen to podcasts then.
I have on occasion broken my new rules for FReepers, though.
