I personally know a female since she was born whom I have seen from time to time at extended family gatherings. As a child, she insisted on having a boy's haircut and wearing boy's clothing only. She had to be coaxed by teachers to wear dresses at school events where all the other girls wore dresses, such as a choir performance or a graduation procession. She used a name that could have been male or female, and complained about not being a boy.
Her parents and large extended family were patient, as was her school counselor. Fortunately, this was in the 90s, and no one used force or coercion regarding her behavior.
I attended a beach gathering one year when she had turned 13. She rushed up to the house in distress because her fingernail polish had been scratched, and she wondered if anyone had any polish remover so she could repair it? She had "filled out", with hips and boobies, and was wearing a bikini and lipstick. I took a moment to collect myself while I went inside to get her some nail polish remover.
Fast forward 14 years. Extended family in attendance, she made a beautiful bride in a lacy wedding dress when she married a manly man with whom she had been living for a couple of years.
I couldn't have been happier for them; and grateful that she had been born before transfascism became the rule in medicine and the schools.
What a most perfect story.
