I remember being taught in elementary school about the different shapes. Later, in junior high (they’re back to using that term now!) in geometry, shapes became a little more complex.

I do agree with your idea about usage versus shared knowledge, though. I hadn’t given that much thought, but it makes perfect sense.

Surprised “middle school” lasted as long as it did. It sounds so blah and nothing special to promote the little darlings. At least jr. high has “high” in it.

A more recent study showed that ancient people used sticks. Most were strait and had a pointy end. Combined some times with sharpened stones.

Sticks and stones may break your bones.
But them dang cave people could not communicate very well between tribes.
