I am 188% certain that Sessions’ recusal, which is the only thing Trump criticized him for, was absolutely necessary for him to do, and Trump knew it. Trump’s criticism of him was pure optics. He was not naive, nor was he blown of the water.
He was a hero, a warrior, and did tremendous good.
