I have to expand my point. 'Hearings' would be about why security for Capitol Hill failed that day, what the Congress can do to make sure that such a failure does not occur again.
The House hearing has nothing to do with that; the Dems have hired over half a dozen prosecuting attorneys. Congress cannot prosecute! Hearings are centered on Donald Trump and his role in the Jan 06 failure. Why? The 'failure' was due to Pelosi declining Trump's offer of 20,000 {or less} national Guard troops. But neither of those points has been pursued in these 'hearings'.
In addition, Pelosi empowered the Capitol Police to form an anti riot component. The legality of this is highly questionable, especially since she refused troops. Following the Jan 06 mess, Pelosi announced that the Capitol Police would be setting up citizen unrest monitoring offices in California and Florida - to start.
The Congress of the United States has NO authority to set up national police operations, especially a 'spy' operation. Clearly, that would be the jurisdiction of the Executive Branch.
Keep an eye on Nasty Pelosi.
The Kangaroo Kommittee already stated they will be making criminal referrals, and I’m sure Garland will be orgasmic to oblige.
Yep, she’s the one stonewalled the national guard:

As House Speaker, Pelosi had a responsibility to approve Trump’s order for 10K National Guard and make sure the Capitol was safe, but she didn’t.
