My reasons for "Not buying a Tesla" can best be summarized by comparing your Maine roadmap with Montana's.
There is just too much space between places that we need to be to even consider vehicles with practical operating radius less than 1000 miles in 24 hours...or less if we're in a hurry.
Combine that with the usual load requirements associated with ranching/agriculture and I guess I'll look at a Tesla when it comes as a 3/4 ton pickup with a whole lot better battery setup than anything I've seen. (0-60 in 3.5 sec is neat but it scares crap outta the cows in back)
Then we can also discuss my personal deep mistrust of Chinese electronics and electrical components.......that's enough of a deal killer that we haven't a truck/SUV less than ten years old anymore. That new stuff doesn't last long enough to bother with.
Don't get me wrong. I have no interest in buying a Tesla or any other electric. My comment was solely in reference to "performance".
