Re: flax seeds
I grind them and use them in flours (made a pie crust today with almond flour and flaxseed flour.
I eat them in my bran cereal
This is an old-time remedy from my childhood: a neighbor taught me to keep some in a jar in the bathroom. If you get something in your eye: pull down your lower eyelid, drop one seed in it close your eye, blink a couple of times with your eye closed. Then, gently roll the seed around in your eye. You can feel it under your upper eyelid. It doesn’t hurt. Then, just sit with your eye closed for a couple of minutes. The seed will move to the corner of your eye- with the foreign matter stuck to it. Gently remove the seed. I know this sounds crazy, but it works every time. I did it with my children, and grandchildren.

Yikes! I suspect that that is definitely an act of faith! 😲 I will try to remember it if needed.

The first time I got something I’m my eye, my dad took out a shot glass from the bar, filled it with water to the brim and told me to place my eye in the water, open it if I could, blink a couple of times, and it came right out.

Always worked for me and my kids every time. Seemed a little safer too.
