Bit of a stretch. The UN is built on Turtle Bay, less than half a mile from where a massive bombardment and amphibious landing of British forces took place on Kips Bay in September 1776. Almost ended the Revolution and nearly took out Gen. Washington.
If there’s any symbolism to this I’d say the site was chosen to finish the job where Gen. Howe failed.
...also was the site of several large-scale slaughterhouses.
