The above clip is what I was talking about upthread, about the Prussian model of education...
IIRC they came up with classes grouped by age and teachers for each, and not the “one room schoolhouse” with one teacher.
I’ve got the textbook from an ~1890 1 room schoolhouse that covered all grades/levels and there isn’t any easy poo in that thing!
