Wow, you simply have not had a sub on really good bread. Subway bread is just... blah, soft and close to soggy.

I get subs from Jersey Mike’s: they are in between Subway and real French bread sandwiches. They make the bread right there and the inner ingredients are deli quality. But it is the bread which really makes them good.

I go to the grocery store rather than Subway if there is no Jersey Mike’s around!

The most delicious meal I ate in Paris was this sandwich, but instead of butter or mayo they spread a soft boiled egg on it.

Tres magnifique!

They are good. I had one in France but I liked the ones with just ham and cheese better.

When I was a kid, my favorite thing at the beach was a piece of fried chicken. No bread needed.

Best beach sandwich is baloney on white bread and mustard with a bit of beach sand thrown in.

Butter on any cold sandwich is just gross.

My mom reflexively puts butter on all sandwiches she makes. It has grossed me out since I was a kid.

Even peanut butter.

She’s in her mid 80’s so I’ve sort of given up.

Smoked turkey + brie on a baguette is my go-to sandwich for the outdoors.

Oh, heck yeah.

Wow, baloney sandwiches on Wonder bread at the beach brings back great memories. Mom always brought a jug of orangeade and some Chips Ahoy cookies. Good times.

Yeah, always had to brush away the sand but some got into the sandwich anyways; memories.
