“He cited 3.6% unemployment rate as reason for optimism”

We never hear about the total number of people employed in the USA anymore. I believe it is because those numbers are so much smaller than they were before the Covid pandemic shutdowns.

So many people are not working due to getting stimulus money, perhaps finding out how a 2 parent family is better off with one parent staying home, or being forced to leave their job because of refusing to take the redefined vaccine.

The airlines are hurting so much because of huge numbers of employees who have been fired, not just pilots, but people who work in all the other capacities such as baggage handlers and check-in counter workers.

Biden caused all of this.

When you are on unemployment it does run out eventually. Since there is no longer any pandemic emergency extensions, you are limited to only your state’s eligibility period to collect. In CA, it is 1 year. When that 1 yr runs out, you are removed from the UI roll. Thus, a low unemployment number does not necessarily mean everyone has gotten jobs. Its one of those things that doesn’t really mean what that want you to think it does.
