I guess I didn’t get my point across very well.
I’m saying that when stuff like this just pops up, it takes people by surprise, especially AFTER having so much to say about absent fathers.
Ideally, Herschel should have been every bit as visible with his other kids as he is with his son, Christian. If you look at Wikipedia (which many people do), it clearly states he was not involved in raising his other kids. I have no doubt he paid for them, but was not a father to them.
I guess I think that more is expected of the right. The left are the liars. The left are the hyprocrites. I would rather have seen Herschel mention his other children, admit that he likely failed them, but be honest and say he regrets it (assuming he does) and that he knows first hand what a sad thing it is for kids to not have their dads around.
Should the right circle the wagon and defend him - of course. All I was saying is I hate it when we get put in that embarrassing position of finding out after the fact, rather than everyone being upfront about such things. We know darned well the left is going to dig up everything they can.
The left sure gets a pass for much worse. I’d be willing to give Herschel one, too, and vote for him, if I could.
Like you say...hopefully he’s paid for these kids’ to be raised...and, hopefully, he’ll have a relationship with them, going forward.
Maybe God has had a hand in all of this, for Herschel and his kids.
“We know darned well the left is going to dig up everything they can.”
Of course. This is exactly why so few good conservatives are willing to run for office or even take a job in a Republican administration. If the left can’t find any dirt, they will just make it up ,,,, recall Kavanaugh hearings.
