Florida and Texas combined have over 700,000 more civilians employed in the labor force in April 2022 than they did in January 2020.

States who had Republican governors combine on a net of over 1.4 mil additional jobs. States with Democrats have 1.4 million fewer net jobs.

Source of data on this is the BLS monthly state archive, which has civilian labor force data by month and state back to 1976.

I hate boiling down policy to political party. But when I see the White House try to take credit for the success of policies that blatantly went against theirs, I’ll correct it. Florida was criticized for staying open and weaning folks back into the labor force. It worked.

Obviously, Uvalde was a tragedy. And now 4 people were killed by a gunman in Tulsa and it’s national news. But why isn’t Chicago national news?

Wed: 2 shot dead, 5 more wounded - including a cop.

Tues: 11 people shot, 2 fatally.

Memorial Day Weekend: 51 shot, 9 killed.
