It caught on fire, but I unplugged it and ran out the door with it before it could do much damage. Brand new carpet, glad it didn’t burn.
I owned it for several years, I’ll just have to buy a new one.

We don’t have any carpet, so, I’ve never had a need for one.
The ones I see at the grocery story, for rental, look pretty heavy duty. How often do you shampoo your carpet?
