Despite having a few good quotes attributed to him (e.g., “Government by the people...but what if the people are retarded?”) as I’ve discovered on this thread, I don’t think we really want to be associated with him.

Any wise sayings from him are the stopped clock kind. He was such a disgusting phony guru who also committed crimes that he was thrown out of India. He pushed orgies, drug use, brought in homeless people to illegal vote locally to try to have his followers take over the county (or was it the town of Antelope?) local government. His followers had to give him money and he encouraged male followers to sell drugs and female followers to prostitute themselves to make money for him. His followers planned to commit some kind of mass murder with poison, iirc to spread in serve yourself restaurants on salad or something of that nature but were caught.
His “teachings” have absolutely nothing to do with any traditional teachings of Hinduism - ie the Vedas, are entirely his own invention. He pushed the crudest kind of sexual hedonism as “spiritual” (gag puke) and whether he participated or not I do not know and would rather not know.
There is a lot more but that’s off the top of my head. And yes, he had a collection of 50 Rolls Royces.
PS - the only reason he gained any traction was because of his “cool guru” (cough puke) appearance.
