What kind of things do you vacuum seal and freeze? (BTW i am a vegetarian...). I only buy ingredients, no pre-made food.

If you can, buy local foods. Right now that would be rhubarb. Just chunk it and freeze it. No blanching. It freezes great and makes wonderful pies or compote. Next up are strawberries. Just hull and freeze with a little sugar. Spring spinach, kale, and swiss chard can be frozen too, but must be blanched.

I’ve frozen collards and kale when I had way too many; blanched and froze.

Buying to freeze is not great around here, produce prices high. Usually I can a lot from UPick places or get wild blackberries, or neighbors with too many plums, cherries, etc. I like canning fruit better than freezing because if power goes out I don’t worry.
