Yeah but the alternate theory is that the erosion occurred due to dredging the moat around the monument.

The Nile used to come right up to it and it would accumulate a lot of silt and debris which had to be removed to conduct some of the ritual ceremonies that used boats.

The erosion patterns would be the same. Also no other geologist has ever confirmed the publicity hound character that proposed the theory.
