I like the new platform, but it wont’ come cheap.

Funny how when the 5.56 came about the top brass could not say enough good about it. Lightweight, smaller cartridge for more rounds, less weight and size to transport, less recoil, less lethal but more debilitating.

Maybe like some said earlier, there is more body armor out there now and this could penetrate, but I ‘don’t know the terminal ballistics of 5.56 vs 6.8

Yeah, but they didn't have to stake their lives on the damn thing like we did. Apparently, they were in such a hurry to get that thing into our hands, that they completely omitted the operational testing part - with the ammo they were issuing with it - so we were stuck with a weapon that jammed horribly in the middle of firefights, had ridiculously unusable sights, had a safety with a too-strong detent, and stocks that shattered when struck.

I guess somebody made money off the deal, didn't they?
