The M16 was a very good weapon if cleaned and handled correctly.

My point is how often a new weapon was bought and issued to our military. Then,the new weapons get trash talked until they become SOP.

You are spot on. I recall carbines, M14’s, then the M16 and CAR 15’s. My yards had carbines against AK’s. Thanks friend.
