In 1943, archaeologists discovered an 85x36 centimeter ancient inscription of 30 lines written in Greek calling on the people of Nahavand to obey the laws of the government (circa 200 BC).The more things change, the more they stay the same. Did their Minister of Truth and Propaganda make that demand of subjects?

The inscription indicated the existence of the Laodicea Temple, which had been built by the Seleucid king who ruled Asia Minor, Antiochus III the Great (223-187 BC), for his wife Queen Laodicea. Antiochus III was the father of the infamous Antiochus IV Epiphanes of I and II Maccabees fame who desecrated the Jewish temple (prophesied by the prophet Daniel) and precipitated the Maccabean Revolt which eventually led to the observance of Hanukkah celebrating the reconsecration of the temple.

Annnnd another nothing picture. Well, a picture of a hole is better than the usual archaeologist articles with no picture at all.
It’s always a big honcho’s grave but never the person who shoveled out the camel stall.
