if you aren’t doing enough research to actually follow people posting the sequencing and comparison data, you don’t want to know.
Alex Jones, Steve Kirsch, et al, are not virologsts. Why should I follow them? Jones started making ignorant assertions right off the bat about history of outbreaks, so apparently he does not do even cursory research before writing:

“Very early genetic analysis suggests the current cases are very closely related to forms of the virus seen in 2018 and 2019. It is too early to be sure, but for now there is no evidence this is a new mutant variant at play.”
