Chertoff was the Special Counsel for the Senate Whitewater Committee during the BJ administration during the early 1980s. Lots of evidence surrounding not only Whitewater, but the Vince Foster murder, cocaine trafficking out of Mena, Arkansas, gun manufacturing in Arkansas in exchange for cocaine, ProMIS software, the boys on the tracks ... etc. chertoff showed lots of energy and lots of bluster but left a huge pile of nothing-burger on the floor. Reminds me of that congressman from South Carolina a few years ago (can't remember his name) - powerful voice and rhetoric, but no action.

Chertoff was a classmate of mine in high school so knew him very well at the time. Unfortunately, money corrupts so many in DC and looks like he went to the Dark Side. He was a top prosecutor under Giuliani in NYC at one time before getting mixed up with the Bushes.
