Top Democrats keep emailing me to tell me how angry they are. They’re asking for money, and people apparently donate more if those seeking handouts are in a rage.
I mentioned recently that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) asked me for support on the grounds that she was made “sick to [her] stomach” by originalist Supreme Court justices moving to overturn the “constitutional right to abortion.”
Then, the "Ragin’ Cajun," Democratic operative James Carville, emailed me saying he was “furious.” That was his one-word headline. “I’m so damn angry,” he went on, “I can hardly type this message to you.”
A flunky doubtless typed it for him, which is an amusing irony but beside the point. The salient thing is that Col. Cueball, like Pelosi, thinks it’s persuasive that his feelings are running high. On the Left, anger is seen as self-justifying. Fury is its own excuse. If you’re throwing a fit, you must be right. Rage or nausea make your argument unassailable.
This exactly fits Allan Bloom’s landmark 1987 analysis The Closing of the American Mind. He saw that university leftism was dragging America into a sort of anti-rational imbecility that displaced reason with emotion, and he noted that “civilization or, to say the same thing, education, is the taming of the soul’s raw passions.” He added, “Indignation or rage was the vivid passion characterizing those in the grip of a new moral experience.”
These passionate militants graduated to run the Democratic Party and send me fundraising emails. There is an adamantine chain of causation between their emotional preening and the urge to violence that recently produced the firebombing of a pro-life/anti-abortion organization’s headquarters in Wisconsin. If you’re a left-winger, you can lob Molotov cocktails at people whose opinions you dislike and feel self-righteous about it.

Yep. Raw emotion without logic or reasoning.
Democrats, like the Islamic world, are perpetually outraged.
Same with swearing. People think their arguments are more persuasive if peppered with cuss words. The exact opposite is the result.
They often rage against existence.
It is not government which they protest; it is reality.
They expect themselves to be gods.
Rush Limbaugh used to say that the Democrat party must constantly have victims in order to survive.
There is a difference between US and THEM on this.
These are the things, according to a poll a little while back, that WE (Conservatives) are concerned and angry about:
When I look at this list (from a reputable poll source with valid internals) it seems adult, rational, and normal to me. These are things that we as citizens SHOULD be concerned with.
Now, contrast it with these things that THEY (the Left) are concerned with, from the same reputable poll:
I must tell you, when I saw this, it frightened me a bit. These people, our polar opposites, are frothing-at-the-mouth, irrational, mad dogs. With perhaps one or two exceptions at most, this would be the kind of result I would expect from asking a five year old what they were concerned and afraid about.
We should be concerned about the Left. Very concerned. Because they are the ones with their verminous rat claws on the controls of the plane, and they seem determined to plow it into the ground before we can have a chance to stop them.
That is a uniform characteristic of Leftists. They apparently think it is edgy or hip to curse at every opportunity.
I once was like that, especially when I was in the Navy. I developed very bad habits that took me years to break, and while I have largely succeeded through deliberate attention to the problem, I still involuntarily backslide on occasion.
But the thing is, I know it is wrong, I know it is counterproductive, I know it makes people uncomfortable, and I know it serves no useful purpose, so I vow to do better each time I slip.
Leftists have no such governor. As a matter of fact, it is encouraged in their circles. It must give them some kind of “cred” in their minds.
I see it as weakness.
YEP!
I don't mind it when used in the proper context. Such as hitting your thumb with a hammer or telling some bawdy jokes with the guys over some beers.
But people that use it all the time in normal conversation make me cringe.
Anger is weakness.
Or posts made with 100% capital letters. lol
Increased volume is not a substitute for logic...A = A.
