Mona has felt isolated here since she moved in 18 months ago and all it took were some kind words from me, my son and D-i-L the day I moved in, and she now comes to me when she has problems. Which isn’t too often, thankfully.
Don’t get me wrong. I will listen when she needs me. But she stays and she cries and talks and cries and sometimes, it’s two hours and a box of tissues before she has gotten it out of her system, poor thing.
I can only lend her an ear, but I can’t solve her problems. Still, if listening to her helps her find the answers, then I’m here. I’ll never turn her away.
You are probably more of a blessing to her than you realize. Sometimes, all somebody needs is for someone to listen and give the occasional sympathetic or encouraging word. ♥️
